Jersey

A judgment can be issued in a court if you fail to repay the money you owe and the applicant has taken court action.

The Jersey Register contains money judgments for registrations in the Petty Debts Court and Royal Court.

Judgments are shown as either satisfied or unsatisfied on the Register. Satisfied means the judgment has been paid in full, unsatisfied means it has not.  Judgments stay on the register for six years unless set-aside/cancelled.

The information appearing on the Register is as follows:

  • name and address of the defendant
  • date and amount of judgment (excluding costs)
  • details of ‘satisfaction’ once Registry Trust has been provided with proof of payment and the search fee
